J.I.D, a genius lyricist and masterful rapper! A Japan tour is scheduled for June 2026! J.I.D is a hip-hop artist from East Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up listening to the classic funk and soul records his parents collected. He signed with J. Cole’s Interscope Records imprint, “Dreamville Records,” and made his major label debut in 2017. In 2018, he made a significant impact beyond his own creative work, including a feature on Denzel Curry’s “Sirens.” On October 31—his birthday that year—he released his highly anticipated second album, *Dicaprio 2*. The album received high praise from numerous music magazines and garnered significant attention, particularly for featuring an actor who resembled a young Leonardo DiCaprio on the album cover. In 2022, he was featured on Imagine Dragons’ “Enemy,” which became a massive global hit, marking another major success. Following this massive hit, they released their third studio album, *The Forever Story*, featuring numerous guest artists such as Lil Wayne, Yasiin Bey, and Lil Durk. The album ranked on many “Best of 2022” lists in publications like Rolling Stone, Complex, GQ, XXL, and Pitchfork, and they also performed a fantastic live set on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. Riding that momentum, he released the four-track EP *GDLU (Preluxe)*, which included the track “Animals” featuring Eminem, greatly heightening fan anticipation. In August 2025, his fourth studio album, *God Does Like Ugly*, was released, featuring an all-star lineup of guests including Clipse, Ciara, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples, Jessie Reyez, and Westside Gunn, creating a diverse and rich sound. *God Does Like Ugly* quickly became one of the defining hip-hop releases of 2025.
