What is the Baton Pass Concert®?

The Baton Pass Concert® is a concert series that supports aspiring artists, in which promising young performers appear in a relay format, each introducing the next artist.
Its aim is to discover and nurture the next generation of artists, supporting talent across a wide range of genres including classical, pop, and jazz.

Highlights
This concert series connects artists in a relay style, with each performer introducing the next. It embodies the hope that the musical “baton” will continue to be passed on without interruption.

Misora Ishida (flute)

Misora Ishida graduated from the Music Department of Sakaide High School and from the Instrumental Department of the Faculty of Music at Tokyo University of the Arts. She also completed her Master’s degree in Instrumental Music at the same university.

She won 2nd prize at the 72nd All Japan Student Music Competition (High School Division, National Finals), was a finalist in the 17th Sendai Flute Competition (General Division), and received 2nd prize in the Woodwind Division at the 33rd Takarazuka Vega Music Competition.

She participated in masterclasses with Mario Caroli at the Takefu International Music Festival 2023 and with Jean Ferrandis at the Kyoto French Music Academy 2024. She also attended the 2nd Kugenuma Music Academy.

She has studied flute under Kazue Mitani, Keiko Tomura, Hiroshi Tadokoro, Hiroaki Kanda, Michimoto Kinowaki, Yusuke Yanagihara, and Ayako Takagi.

She was a scholarship recipient of the Yonden Cultural Promotion Foundation (2022) and the Fukushima Scholarship Foundation (2023). She is currently active mainly in the Kanto area as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer.

Miki Morisugi (piano)

Miki Morisugi was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture. She graduated from Hiroshima Music High School, completed the Piano Performance Course at Tokyo College of Music, and finished her Master’s degree at the same institution.

She was a semi-finalist in the 7th Ishikawa International Piano Competition and performed with members of the NHK Symphony Orchestra at the ORIZURU International Peace Music Festival. She has also attended the Kammermusik Academy and the Kugenuma Music Academy.

She held a solo recital as part of the Primo Art Workshop Recital Support Series.

She has studied under Ryoko Mishima, Motoko Kojima, Mizuho Nakata, Katsunori Ishii, and Ayano Shimada.

She is active primarily as a chamber pianist, performing in competitions as an official accompanist and in various ensemble settings.
