Handling of Facial Information

Please refer to the Japanese regulations for official information.

TicketMe Inc. (the "Company") handles the Facial Information of customers (as defined in Article 2) collected in providing the face recognition feature in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations, the Company's Privacy Policy, and this document. This document is a special provision of the Privacy Policy concerning the handling of Facial Information; if this document conflicts with the Privacy Policy, this document shall prevail.

Article 1 (Business Operator)

Article 2 (Information Collected)

In providing the face recognition feature, the Company collects the following information (collectively, "Facial Information").(1) Face image: the face photograph uploaded or taken by the customer for registration(2) Facial feature data: data generated from the face image that numerically expresses facial characteristics (such as the position and shape of the eyes, nose, mouth and contour). This falls under an "individual identification code" under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. The original face image cannot be restored from facial feature data.(3) Images captured at entry: face images captured by the camera of the venue terminal at event entry(4) Matching results and entry records: the success or failure of matching, and the event and date and time of entry

Article 3 (Purposes of Use)

The Company uses Facial Information solely for the following purposes. It is not used for advertising or marketing purposes, nor for machine learning (training) or performance verification of the face recognition system.(1) Identity verification at event entry through face recognition (facial identification)(2) Prevention of unauthorized ticket resale and impersonated entry(3) Proper operation of the Services by performing matching and similar processing against Facial Information and other information held by the Company, in order to prevent unauthorized use of the services provided by the Company(4) Regeneration of facial feature data accompanying updates to the face recognition system

Article 4 (Retention Period and Deletion)

(1) Face images and facial feature data will be erased without delay at whichever of the following occurs first. ① When the customer deletes their registration of Facial Information from My Page (whether deletion is possible is governed by Article 8 of the Terms of Use for the Face Recognition Feature) ② When the customer closes their account (erasure occurs regardless of whether they hold tickets, except in the case of paragraph (5)) ③ When two years have elapsed from the date the customer last used the Feature (the later of the date they entered by face recognition or the date they registered or renewed their Facial Information)(2) Even where the validity period of the face recognition registration (Article 4 of the Terms of Use for the Face Recognition Feature) has elapsed, Facial Information will be erased in accordance with item ③ of the preceding paragraph.(3) Images captured at entry are discarded immediately after matching is completed.(4) Facial feature data temporarily stored on venue terminals for matching is erased from the terminals promptly after the relevant event ends.(5) Notwithstanding paragraph (1), where a customer's account has been forcibly terminated (meaning deregistration under Article 4 of the Company's Terms of Use; the same applies hereinafter) on grounds such as unauthorized use of the Company's services, including a violation of the Terms of Use, the Company may retain that customer's face images and facial feature data for two years from the date of the forced termination, and will erase them without delay after that period has elapsed.

Article 5 (Provision to Third Parties and Viewing by Organizers, etc.)

(1) Except as required by law, the Company does not provide facial feature data to third parties (including organizers (including those who plan, hold, operate or manage the event) and businesses entrusted by the organizer with event operation, entry management or similar work (including their subcontractors)).(2) Organizers and businesses entrusted by the organizer with event operation, entry management or similar work may view a customer's face image, matching results and entry records on the system provided by the Company for the purposes of identity verification at entry and entry management. These parties are prohibited by contract between the Company and the organizer from copying or storing this information, or using it for any purpose other than the above.

Article 6 (Outsourcing)

The Company outsources the storage of Facial Information to Microsoft Azure (Japan domestic region).

Article 7 (Security Control Measures)

In addition to the measures set out in Article 11 of the Privacy Policy, the Company takes the following measures for Facial Information.(1) Encrypted storage of facial feature data and encryption of communications(2) Encryption of facial feature data distributed to venue terminals, and access control for the terminals (organizers and businesses entrusted by the organizer with event operation, entry management or similar work may only confirm matching results and view face images to the extent necessary for identity verification, and cannot access facial feature data)(3) Limitation of employees who can access Facial Information and recording of access logs

Article 8 (Customer Rights)

(1) Customers may delete their registration of Facial Information from My Page. However, while they hold a valid Face Recognition Ticket, customers cannot delete it themselves from My Page (Article 8 of the Terms of Use for the Face Recognition Feature). If the account is closed, Facial Information is erased regardless of whether tickets are held (except in the case of Article 4, paragraph (5)). Deleted Facial Information is erased in accordance with Article 4.(2) Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, customers may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use or erasure of Facial Information in accordance with Articles 6 and 13 through 15 of the Privacy Policy. The contact point is as set out in Article 10.(3) Where, as a result of a request under the preceding paragraph, the suspension of use or erasure of Facial Information makes it impossible to use a Face Recognition Ticket, and this is attributable to the Company, the Company will, at its discretion, either refund the price of that ticket by the method prescribed by the Company or carry out entry procedures after verifying identity by a method other than face recognition.

Article 9 (Minors)

Customers under 18 years of age should register Facial Information only after obtaining the consent of a parent or other legal representative.

Please contact the point of contact set out in Article 17 of the Privacy Policy.

Article 11 (Changes to This Document)

The Company may change this document in response to amendments to laws and regulations or changes to the content of its services. Where material changes are made, they will be announced by posting on the Company's website or by other appropriate means.

Article 12 (Regions Served)

The face recognition feature is provided for events held within Japan.The face recognition feature is not currently provided to customers residing in the United States or Canada, or for access from within the United States or Canada.

Article 13 (For Customers Residing in the EEA or the United Kingdom)

The Facial Information of customers residing in the EEA or the United Kingdom constitutes "special categories of personal data" under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, and the Company handles it on the basis of the customer's explicit consent (GDPR Article 9(2)(a)).Customers have the right to withdraw their consent at any time and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The methods for withdrawing consent and deleting a registration are as set out in Article 8.The Company's representative in the EU is as set out in Article 1 of the Company's Privacy Policy.
